It's still possible that Bruce Willis will return in a Die Hard 6, but at this point, it's just too late for him to do that in a satisfactory way.
He's retired and so is John McClane.
shareI think there's plenty of room for a Die Hard sequel. We got a perfectly good hero developed with his son, who has reasonable star power to revamp the franchise. All you need really is some guy shouting "McClane, you can't do that!" while he runs around blowing up bad guys. And you got a Die Hard movie.
