a plot hole.

there are many like where were frank and the inbred woman getting food. also what bothered me was when the cops brought tess back to the house and they ask her for id. she fails to mention the car (a suv) that was sitting there along with keith's car who no one seemed to miss. the cops could have done a plate search.

The plot hole all these subterranean cannibal/mutant/inbred films ("Deathline", "The Descent", "Creep" (2004)) have are creatures which have little exercise, exposure to sunlight, water or nutrients yet somehow have superhuman strength and can get up from repeated severe injury. In reality if she were still alive at all she'd be almost as weak as Frank was.

I wondered if it was a plot hole when Justin Long threw the girl off of the building and yet somehow the mutant lady was able to jump after her, catch up in mid air and shield her with her own body from the impact of a few story fall. I could see if someone was falling from a mile up and spread out while another was falling head first and encountering much less air resistance, they could catch up, but I don't think there would have been time with that short fall from the building.
