why was the cat killed? did other cursed victims kill animals? we know the talley guy killed a person to break the chain. don't get the cat killing element of the story.

I think it was just for the shock value. The kid's reaction was pretty funny though. He just holds it up high for everyone to see..

i was hoping the twist of the movie was seeing his mom get stabbed by her sister but... nope

She killed while being possessed. The demon screws with you and makes you crazy to a point where you are ready to kill youerself. This was one of those things. As it is explained it feeds on trauma.

Yes, well said. Her love and care for Mustache was highlighted so that the entity would make her break that bond as part of the dehumanising process.

Mustache was a very cute kitty. It has gotten to where I hate to see a cat or dog early on in a horror movie. It has become a tired trope to cruelly kill them off for shock value.

Thats what I thought also. I immediately had a bad feeling when they shows cat greet her when she comes home.
