Sing, fat lady, sing.

I am just curious. I come to these boards to see what people have to say about this show. A VAST majority are complaints of how stale and poorly written this show has become, calling it garbage, lacking any real focus and wondering why the show continues and how much longer it can endure. So forgive me if I have to ask: where is all the loyalty coming from at this point? If there's anyone out there happy about the way the show is going, they certainly don't have anything to say about it. Something keeps this thing going, but what?

I personally seem to be of the vocal majority who seems to think the T.O.D. was somewhere in the middle of season 5 and I really couldn't agree more. Having made it through mid season, I came back for a few more eps after the break, and couldn't help but look back at the mid season finale (Coda, 5.8) as a better than decent way to wrap it up. At least it did for me. I was already done with the whole show pretty much by Terminus, but with everyone still separated, I decided to hold out for a while, because I wanted to see if everyone re-banded. After Terminus and the failed rescue attempt at the hospital, they did just that. Good enough for me. Let the viewer ponder the rest. Send them off into the sunset, swell the music and roll the credits. The fat lady has sung.

I know there are still many die hard fans, but they've got the graphic novels, the source of the entire story to begin with. I've said it before and I will say it again. This story needs to go the way of the slayer. Keep it alive on paper, but let the poor excuse for a series just die off.

I am re watching this series now, and I am in season two, in my own opinion, the best season. It remains good for a few more years, and yes, though I may know what happens this time around, it is still an enjoyable watch. And as it often goes, one will catch many things on repeated viewings they didn't catch the first time around.

Well this board (and even the much larger IMDB board before it) are an incredibly small part of the viewing audience. Also it seems in general that the people who are apt to frequent a message board are also the ones more likely to complain and focus on the negative (I do it with stuff as well). What does surprise me is the number of people who will dismiss the show as pure garbage or unwatchable yet know every detail of each episode. Not sure why they continue to watch if it's that bad lol.

Personally I still really like the Walking Dead and several of my friends do as well....although it does seem like it's gone from being must-see Sunday night TV to I'll DVR it and catch up on Monday or Tuesday. Definitely a sign that a show may be fading. And while I enjoy it, my biggest problem with TWD is there hasn’t been any real hint of an end in sight. They are no closer to a cure or resolution of the earth’s plague, so where exactly is this going other than jumping from battling one big bad to the next (as entertaining as some of those things are). In any event, I’m in too deep at this point and it’s providing me enough entertainment that I’ll be around the end…whenever that may be.

I dropped it after season 4 when I realized I was watching it more out of habit than because I was actually enjoying the show. Nothing I have heard since has made me want to restart it again. It just got stale to me. I only have so much time to watch shows and this show was not worth the time anymore.

I stopped watching after they strung out Negan's kill for a whole season and then flipped the bird to the viewers. Buh-bye! I still like reading through the message boards to witness the woes of the frustrated fans still hanging in there.

Something keeps this thing going, but what?

HABIT , pure and simple
HOPE, that it will resume its once intelligent story-telling
ANDREW LINCOLN , glue that holds it together and give it a modicum of drama

that's it for me
