The King's Last Speech

I watched this movie (The King's Speech) last night and I really liked it! The cast was great: Colin Furth, Geoffrey Rush, Helena Bonham Carter, Guy Pence, Timothy Spall, Derek Jacobi, Jennifer Ehle, Michael Gambon, Clair Bloom, and Eve Best were a great cast! I especially h liked the last scene where Colin Furth waves goodbye to a crowd! I highly recommend this movie!

It's a good film. I watched it once and enjoyed, but haven't felt the desire to revisit it.

It's a bit funny, for an Oscar winner it does not seem to be well-remembered. It's rarely mentioned or referenced, and it seems like when it IS mentioned it's usually in reference to how progressively weak Best Picture winners have become over the last couple of decades.

I do think it's weak for a Best Picture winner. Still though, I enjoyed the film when I watched it and thought it was an effective based-on-a-true-story historical drama.

i agree. the fighter was much more deserving of the best picture oscar win for that year.

I found "The Fighter" unconvincing and unmoving, perhaps because the leads were far too old for their roles. I mean the actors were in their forties, and the characters should have been in their twenties! Or maybe because the characters were so unsympathetic.

But I loved "TKA", it's a lovely movie and I saw it again recently, it definitely holds its power over time and multiple viewing.
