Ignoring the previous sequels....

I know that was the only way they could have made this film....But it is kind of an insult to the previous sequels is it not?
I know, none of them were exactly great but number 2, 4 and H20 are pretty decent and TBH I don't want to ignore them..
Personally, I think they may as well just remade the original. I mean, this one isn't much different from that one anyway.

They already remade it once. But I agree the should have continued the original continuity rather than confuse or turn off new viewers. Good or bad those seqeuls should have remained. Look at the Rocky series. By movie 4 it was silly and surreal. Movie 6 brought It back to realism as well as Creed. But now I'm afraid that Creed 2 will bring the franchise back into comic book territory. Still though good or bad they kept all the continuity. Superman returns was a mess as well.

Maybe they could have just ignored Resurrection. Since that one was kind of a joke anyway.
I've not seen H20 for a while but I remember she chops his head off at the end.....Maybe for the sake of another sequel, they could have added the twist that Myers was not the person she decapicated, but before she hijacked the van and drove off with his body, he knocked someone unconcious and switched clothes with them....Again, it's been a while since I saw H20 so I am not sure if that would work or not lol.
Just an idea though!

I just don't like the fact that we HAVE to ignore the other sequels in order for this one to make sense.

reply

Well they did explain it wasn't him see decapitated and than he killed Laurie.

reply

Was that in Resurrection?

reply

I think so...

reply

Lmao your standards must be pathetically low. All Halloween sequels (including Rob Zombie's garbage remake) are trash. You should be glad this film ignores all sequels and the remake.

reply

LOL wow what a cunt.

reply

Agreed 100%!
There’s is only One Halloween and this new one is for fans of the 1978.
End of story!

reply

Nah, 2, 4 and H2O were decent films. I find it quite laughable how someone could insult someones taste for liking these films when trying to act like this new one was some kind of masterpiece lol. It wasn't.

reply

YMMV

Come again?

reply

Your mileage may vary when it comes to all of those Halloween sequels.

reply

Of course. Each to their own, I respect your opinion.
Unless you say things like this:

"Lmao your standards must be pathetically low." Of course.

They kind of already retconned it for H20 even though in my opinion H4 was a better film than that one. It was still an upgrade over the mess that became H5 and H6. If H20 didn't exist and this current film didn't ignore H2 I would probably be more interested in it than I am. I will still watch it, but ignoring theatrical sequels has always been a negative for me, its very fan fiction.
