quote:

"Speaking specifically to Helm’s unnamed daughter she said, “In the appendices where the story is drawn from, we get these quite interestingly drawn male characters, and then we get this young female character who is never named — and that was really interesting to me.”
“We know Helm has a daughter, and we know that she was central to the conflict that happened. But myself, and especially screenwriter Phoebe Gittins, were drawn to her,” she said. “We could feel the weight of being that unnamed daughter, which immediately piqued our interest: Who was she? How did she live?”"

oh my god shut the fuck up. they sound so fucking annoying.

Not really; to be honest, at this point I can barely muster up the effort to roll my eyes in utter boredom at this sort of thing. A bunch of agenda-driven hacks inserting their garbage into the work of people more talented than they'll ever be is basically nothing but a day ending in "y" at this point.

Otherwise, I just plan on paying about as much attention to this as I do to every other laughably awful piece of Tolkien fanfiction that's already out there on the internet.

literally if these shit writers didnt leech off of a huge ip, nobody would even give two shits about their work. they don't do this woke shit for original ip because they know nobody would even bother caring. the audacity of coming in and then thinking they can write a good original story is absolutely delusional.

“We were drawn to her.”

Why? What about her drew them to her? They admitted she’s a no-name character with no details at all. How would that draw anyone in?

Rhetorical question of course. We know exactly why they chose her. I was gonna give it a chance since it’s an anime, Japan usually has a good record for strong female characters. But if this is a western production with a Japanese coating, then no thanks. Let it fade like Rings of Power did.

Most of what passes for today's "filmmakers" are so far up their own backsides that it's hard to imagine how anyone but themselves could care about what they say.
