These guys could not be less threatening

which of the characters in the book is supposed to be threatening? as for elementary, what about that deadbeat loser portrayel of sherlock would you call threatening? the female watson maybe, but that character was even less "threatening" in the books.

I'm from the US and Elementary doesn't win anything, except maybe an award for how to make a standard police procedural and link it to some well-known literary works by using names from it but not really adopting the spirit.

Hercules Poirot and Mrs Marple weren't particularly threatening either, they're detectives, I don't see the need.
