A true disaster of a movie.

I've been eagerly waiting for this film for a few years. Duncan Jones said it has been 16 years in the making. Moon is probably in my top 50 movies of all time. 'Mute' looks and feels like a pilot episode of a show made for the SyFy channel that never got green lit.

I'm so disappointed I don't have the strength to make a proper worded mini review of it. In terms of ratio of expectation levels to quality of film, I'd rank it as one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Paul Rudd is the only thing that prevents it from being rated as low as possible.

3/10

Hard to believe this was the "spiritual" follow up to Moon, especially after how good Source Code was despite the small setting...

I wonder if it being a Netflix production influenced Jones, subconciously or conciously, in making it with the small screen in mind...

small screen or big screen, there's no excuse for such poor dialogue. If I was shown this film and moon I would argue strongly that there is simply no way the same person has Directed the 2 films.

i thought the dialogue of the men in the movie worked in the sense that that seems to be how people in the near future will speak, especially the hipster surgeons...

yes. I catagorize films as WORST when I can't even get through them - and that is very rare to me.

I could not get through MUTE. :( UhhGG!!!

reply
