Sigh, another dud? I am hoping the critics are in the wrong here...

Early Cannes reviews aren't looking shall we say, fresh. A lot of the complaints is Indy being relegated in the back yet again but is it just the older version? What about the CGI younger version? Unless the younger versions are just very short flashbacks and the rest of the movie is Indy playing catch up with his god daughter. A final nail in the coffin is not what I am hoping for.

I'm going to take a wait-and-see attitude, but the more I hear, the more I feel like it's not looking good. I was really hoping that James Mangold, who is a great director, would turn in a quality product here but it sounds like he may have made the first film of his career that I end up not liking.

Hollywood just can't leave well enough alone. If there was any reason to bring back Indy after the disaster of Crystal Skull, the script should have been nothing less than a masterpiece. This film needed to be great.
