So it seems like scheduling conflicts. Damsel and The Electric State are Netflix movies and Millie is the lead in both, she probably gets a bigger salary from doing them than these MonsterVerse movies. I know that Netflix have paid the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Hemsworth and Gal Gadot $20 million for starring in movies, I imagine Millie is getting similar wages for being the lead in their movies.
She's probably following the money and happy to keep working with Netflix. Stranger Things of course being a Netflix show and her two Enola Holmes movies were Netflix productions, now Damsel and soon The Electric State. She's been Netflix exclusive since Stranger Things season 1, save for the two MonsterVerse movies she starred in.
