This week's episode constantly poked fun at the rediculous world that the PC culture has tried to impose on us, even joking that "gay doesn't carry much weight anymore, but if you're trans you're golden". Coming from a very progressive show, this is a sign of the beginning of the end to that. Thank goodness.
shareWe said this very thing last year while on vacation with a great gay couple that we frequently travel with. We were joking how having a gay couple for friends used to be a trend that showed how forward thinking you were. Now it's no big deal and having trans friends is the new thing.
Did u also see the recent Will and Grace where they made a similar joke... where a bunch of 'oppressed' types... blacks, Latinos, gay, trans, elderly, etc were all arguing who comes first in the hierarchy of oppression?
At one point a straight, older white guy tells them all that HE felt like he was one of the most oppressed groups in America right now... and they slowly close the door in his face.
I'm an older white guy and even I found this funny...
That is funny, and unfortunately true.
