What do they think happened to Dexter and Deb?

The people in Miami, I mean. Deb got shot and was in the hospital. We know we took her body, but what do they think? Dex was lost at sea, do they suspect she was with him?

reply

Presumably, who else would've taken her from her hospital room?

I think it's an easy enough reach. Dexter was driven mad by grief, took her body, and committed suicide. Not sure what they think happened to Harrison though.

The original series ending left A LOT of loose ends such as

1- Dexter going to the lockup & killing Saxon/Vogel; then after that being questioned by Batista & Qinn, they don't even ask him where Harrison is

2- Deb, on life support just disappearing from the hospital

3- Jack Elway, getting M99'd on the bus by Hannah. He KNOWS Harrison was with her.

Seems to me like they're going to have to have SOME kind of resolution/explanation to all these unanswered questions.

1: They were grieving too and so they just didn't think to ask that.

2: They pieced it together and assumed he took her.

3: The only thing I can think is he realized he'd bitten off more than he can chew.

Yeah, these are lame excuses borne of lazy writing, but I'd figure these are what the writers want us to think

I would guess that (at the time) nobody was thinking about a revival several years down the road (obviously), so it was all about wrapping things up as quickly as possible by flinging any old s**t at the wall hoping it would stick. And, of course, all it did was stink.

Still, I think it could turn out to be the podcaster who starts putting all these loose ends together.

So you think it's believed he committed suicide? Drove off into the ocean and peaced out? I can see that. Pretty much the only rational explanation for him taking her body.

reply

Yep that's what I believe, it would make most sense from the outside. And he drove his boat into the storm then escaped on a life raft, so the only reason to do that and live is to destroy the boat, and why would he want to do that if not to die? Because of his grief. And so they assume he took Harrison too, which yes would be awful but sadly people do kill their own children, and he was in a place of extreme grief.
