Domestically: 327mil on a 35mil budget?

And I believe almost 700mil worldwide? Whether you like the movie or not, WB is happy as hell.

For sure. To call this film a big hit would be a colossal understatement. Its critical and financial success is astonishing!

Kinda funny how IT arguably turned out to be WB’s biggest success this year (obviously that honor should go to Wonder Woman but the horror film made with a small budget smashed expectations big time). The movie that should’ve been their biggest hit of the year, on the other hand, became their biggest disappointment (Justice League).

Yes, so many viewers accept psychotic killing of children as entertainment!

Isn't it awesome! Love it!

The bad thing is.that its success means we'll be seeing a lot more like it. Its success is proof this 80's retro culture predicted by Stranger Things wil become even more widespread. I would not be surprised if Spielberg backtracks on his previous vow never to make a sequel to E.T. The climate is--rightly or wrongly--conducive to 80's high concept.

I had no idea... it sure didn't seem to stay in theaters very long.
