The Whale is considered Handicapped ?

When you're morbidly obese, isn't it considered a handicap? The government gives you free money ?

reply

Yes and it really shouldn't be the case.

99% have no excuse for being like this it's self inflicted and can be reversed.

reply

Actually science has shown that to not be the case, part of the reason obesity hasnt been tackled is the incorrect assumption its always caused by one's own behaviour.

Different people burn their fat off at different rates, meaning person A e.g. might do more exercise and have less calories than person B yet may still be more obese.

There is children e.g. in the same family e.g. who might have the same diet, have the same exercise with one much more obese than the other.

Has been some recent science breakthroughs on this, it will eventually trickle down to hospitals and general medical decision making.

Also I dont know of any government that considers obesity itself as a handicap or means of disability payments. There is obese people who are fairly mobile and leading a normal life, and others who are incapable like the guy in this film, but even so the guy in this film was clearly earning his own money.

nonsense

when you are educated in this field come back otherwise you are chatting complete BS.

First step would be to learn about the misinformation that is calories.

No science breakthroughs at all they have not even conducted any valid science its currently misinformation like you are spreading to push on acceptance and push through people to eat more processed garbage (this makes a lot of money for food industry and pharma)

Another subject when you speak about disability you have no clue about please go and learn something.

People who are obese do not live normal lives.

reply

I think you need help as you seem to have some kind of vendetta.

reply

No I tell it as it is none of this touchy feelings BS which is why people being like this and eating the junk has become acceptable.

People need to be told the truth and the truth at times hurts.

Let me have a guess you are obese which is why you are trying to defend it.

reply

No I am actually a researcher. The research ironically was originally to investigate why underweight people havent been putting on weight despite a high calorie diet.

However there is no reasoned debate to be had with you as you wont even accept something as simple as metabolism being different from individual to individual.

reply

Researcher of what how many pies people eat?

I was involved in conducting research for over 3 decades when it comes to human health/diseases before I retired from the role.

You have 0 credibility you buy into the calorie model showing you do not understand science.

Nice try kid.

reply

WELL..HELLO...PERHAPS YOU WOULD FIND INTERACTING WITH PEOPLE TO BE MORE PLEASANT IF YOU WOULD SIMPLY STOP BEING SUCH A LIAR AND WHINER...WHAT DO YOU THINK?🙂

reply

Bollocks. 99.9 percent of fat people are completely responsible for their size, because they eat too much and they exercise too little. Obesity is not a handicap, it is a self-created condition. Fat people always look for excuses (see posts above) so they can blame anything but themselves. The first step to dropping the weight is to accept responsibility. The next step is to start expending more calories than are consumed. Yes, that is a fact. Stop making BS excuses.

reply

He probably is handicaped, considering he can't even leave the house. I have compassion for others but honestly, no one should ever let themselves get that big. The government should not give out free money to people that let themselves go like this.

reply

The answer is yes. He is handicapped since his condition matches the dictionary definition:

"having a condition that markedly restricts one's ability to function physically, mentally, or socially."

The fact that his voluntary actions gave him this condition doesn't change the fact that he's in this condition any more than if he had been racing motorcycles in a dangerous fashion and become a paraplegic after an accident.
