TIL Agatha Christie - Trauma Exploiter in Interracial Marriage!

Well clearly Agatha wasn’t racist after all since her husband was a black archaeologist in the early 20th century!

And who knew she was one of those true crime weirdos! If she were alive today she’d probably have a podcast with lots of trauuuuuma pornnnnnn and vocal fryyyyy.

Overall, fun movie if wickedly hypocritical about exploitation as the movie only exists on the back of Christie. The cast was really underutilized, too. If the mystery were more… mysterious, and the whodunit aspect more whodunit-y, it would be worth revisiting. As it is, it’s too short and simple and Hallmark-y; this is a one and done. Lots of cool shots, sets, music, casting (except for Agatha and Mr. Agatha), and acting; poor mystery. Not enough brainpower either and they treat the audience like morons.

On the photos Christie's husband Max Mallowan doesn't look that black. But maybe they are all overexposed 🤔

That must be it!

I guess it’s just kind of shocking it’s never been mentioned in all Christie documentaries. Maybe it was her husband who recommended the title for Ten Little Naggers!

Come on… this post is missing today’s kewl buzzwords that certain voices live for — especially when it comes to whining about modern Hollywood and of course anyone+anything not reactionary chud-friendly! Well you made your point clear anyway, but at least you threw in ViRTuE SiGnAlInG and what not in other replies. It’s vital stuff!

But that aside… THE DISRESPECT!!! Agatha was done dirty indeed; real life figures being portrayed in film in ways some of us feel is insanely wrong for various reasons has never been common! I tell ya, if only those who reflect the values of MovieChan could be the majority in the film industry! We’d get true cinema back. Like, only the most brilliant (CGI-less) and intellectual films made for superior minds! Best of all, no damn fOrCeD DiVErSiTy and all woke crap inconveniencing us! (Brokeflakes.) Grrrr.

Anyway, fun movie! :) Not as good as it could have been, but still pretty solid and I didn’t find it troubling for one reason in particular like you and the usual “critics” on here did. That be all.
