Liked this simple, pretty and thought provoking sci-fi movie.

Many critics panned this movie, overly-critical in my opinion, but it had an interesting premise and brought up a few interesting things to think about. The action and progression was pretty straight forward and not overly long. It wasn't touted as being overly complex or philosophically deep - just a "What would you do?" type of movie that had some nice special effects, a love interest, and had you reflecting on life a bit. No need to hate on it so much. Just enjoy it.

Didn't like it much when it came out. Like many I was frustrated by what it could have been. But it's been a few years and they run this thing on cable all the time now. So i've watched it a few times lately just cause it's on. And I like it. It's a pretty cool scifi movie. Looks great on the big tv. As you say, it's just a simple story, not overly deep. Just a man and woman living on a space ship. It's kind of cool.

I agree that this movie was too harshly judged when it was released.

I think at that point in time people were getting really sick of seeing both Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt - they seemed to be everywhere.

Like TandyMan, on first viewing I lamented the missed potential of this film but now after watching it about 4 times, I really enjoy this movie.

I think the music and the set design are quite outstanding too.

It's a gorgeous looking film and the starship is one of the best designs I've ever seen a in sci-fi movie.

I liked it from the first viewing. Only later on I realized it was directed by the same guy who made The Imitation Game, another movie of the recent years I liked a lot.

Edit: oh yes, I missed this movie when it was shown in theaters because the trailer was so cliched and played too much on the romance side of the story. It was a nice positive surprise when I finally saw it on blu-ray.
