It's not for everyone.

Interesting dive into the psyche of an insecure anxiety ridden man, emotionally stunted by an overbearing and obsessed mother.

There is something dark and scary lurking inside every person, and probably anyone could find at least some of that in this that they would identify with.

Can't say it's a fun three hour ride, it does drag a bit at some points in the middle. But I think the different segments with their own pacing and tone work well in the end.

There are some moments where I literally had a jaw drop, and watched with my mouth open in shock.

I liked the first hour or so, kind of reminded me of some Lynch and maybe Synecdoche: New York, something like that.

It lost me at the part where it became a play though.

Definitely can agree with the lynch comparisons. I really liked this movie though. Don't think I would have enjoyed it as much in a theatre. I was happy to pause and walk away a few times. I'm just happy that weird movies like this are getting made. I can't wait for his next movie.

This. I liked the first hour. Then all of a sudden I was so incredibly bored. The city and the weirdo family were the most interesting part.

I really liked it, but definitely didn't need to be three hours long and would have probably helped if it was under 2hrs. I doubt it would have helped with it's box office takings or reaching out to a bigger audience. This film was always going to split opinion and be a future cult movie.

I liked all the stuff in the city in first 30 to 40 minutes, liked the Amy Ryan/Nathan Lane and their daughter segment, the stuff in the woods/Play could have done with been cut down a bit and the stuff in the mother's house also too and the ending isn't my cup of tea. But Joaquin Phoenix is on top form and the rest of the cast is game.

Not Ari Aster's best film but still a good film and I admire that he got a film like this made. But it's definitely flawed.

I absolutely loved it and did not expect that Hollywood could even make movies like this. I soaked the 3 hours up like a sponge with minor interruptions.
In total it simply blew me away.
To make a minor complaint too:
The weird second part with the caretakers/doctors was a letdown, was happy when that passed.
