Idris's needs a better dialect coach. He don't sound African American

Missing the cadence. He sounded British sometimes. I think he should use Will Smith as an example.

You had me there for a second, haha!

Will Smith is well spoken and still sounds African American, that's the point I wanted to make.

I’m not playing along haha. I’m sure there are idiots on here who will though!

"He sounded British sometimes". (That's because he is British) I don't think that the producers of this film were worried about dialect authenticity. They wanted a major star as the draw. And they got one. Elba is amazing in everything he does. I loved him in "Pacific Rim" and the Thor movies.

reply

Yeah but it's as though he's never hung out with black people in the states.

reply

Maybe he didn't

reply

The producers WERE worried. According to the end credits he had an own dialect coach...

Its truly bizarre how black americans basically hijacked black people around the world and now most of the people judge them by standards of all those rappers in USA. And every time you see intelligent and well spoken black person you think there is something not right with them. That "they dont speak like black people" ))))

I noticed that too how intelligent Idris Elba sounded. All black british actors do. There is some grace in them. And self respect and dignity. The way they handle themselves. They never scream and yell. The most funny part was when his daughter was shocked that daddy cant start a car without the keys. And he said to her: "I went to med school" ))))

Black people from America make bad name for black people around the world. And I heard that black people in Africa hate black Americans because of the way they whine and throw tantrums and demand things.

Good points. I notice Africans who comment on American news pages like NBC are often hilarious or very profound with their comments.

They do come across as totally different.
