This was actually really good. Well done DC! Between this and the second Suicide Squad movie, it seems like their live action offerings are finally coming together!
shareAgreed, and I think it's due to Gunn writing and directing vs Snyder whose work comes off as melodramatic and dry.
shareI’d like to bet, or at least hope, that the newest Batman will blow these two out of the water! :) I feel I’ll certainly like it better at any rate. And no, not cuz it’ll be dark and gritty (which automatically makes everything better for certain comic film fans).
That said… more like well done James Gunn! The Suicide Squad 2021 and this show were 100% James Gunn. And I definitely like a bunch of DC films (there have been better offerings than this), so not trying to take anything away from them, but Gunn is truly the reason they turned out the way did. Hell, they were only made in the first place cuz he wanted to make them. Needless to say, DC wouldn’t have delivered something like this had another director and writer handled them (and I didn’t totally love either but Gunn unsurprisingly delivered the goods and brought something fresh to this franchise).
