Problem

Scorsese really missed the mark here -- he should have hired young actors to play the characters when they were young. He claimed the old guys knew how the gangsters "moved," but isn't it a director's job to teach an actor that regardless? Couldn't he have had DeNiro and Pacino and Pesci teach young actors how to "move" properly? These guys look geriatric throughout the entire film.

Agreed

I think you missed the whole point which was about Scorsese making a movie with Pesci, De Niro and Pacino and have them for as much of screen time as possible!

reply

No, I understand that got the checkbooks to open. But it killed the movie. When "young," the actors look like cartoons and they still move like old men.

This movie should have been made. Same director. Same actors. Different story.
