I watched this wonderful movie (Behind the Candleabra) last night and I really liked it!!! The cast was great: Michael Doughlas (Liberache), Matt Damon, Scott Bacula, and Rob Lowe were a wonderful cast! Unfortunately at the end of the movie Liberache died of heart failure due to the AIDS virus and flew into the air!!!
Wasn't Douglas good? He really surprised me there, I'd thought of him as an actor without much range before that, but he really changed things up for this movie and it totally worked.
Damon was a bit of a weak link, though, kind of a miscast. The real Scott was about 20 and quite a looker when he got with Liberace, and Damon was in his forties and spent most of the film sulking. I sat there wondering why a charming and charismatic guy like Douglas's Liberace didn't have a better boy-toy.
