How are you not outraged?

So, I don't know what was worse about this movie - the fact that the "teacher" got away with treating everyone like garbage, the terrible things these children were exposed to, the corrupt teachers (all of them), or the fact that the drug abusing teacher gets away with everything in the end.

1. How was she not reported? She was a foul ***** to everyone - funny for the first 2 seconds, but got real old real fast.

2. The stuff this woman exposed those children to - her drug abuse, the movie watching instead of doing actually homework, and finally cheating in the end - she ruined everyone of those children.

3. Teachers smoking pot in the gym. Everyone of those people were trash. The only decent teacher is rewarded with - what's this? - she's framed for being a drug user! How funny! So funny I forgot to laugh.

4. So, in the end, she gets away with everything. The decent teacher is sent to a terrible school. And everyone lives happily ever after. She continues to be a snob. Without the proper rehab she will continue to be a drug user. And those children will suffer.

Um... is this supposed to be a comedy? Because it isn't funny at all. How can any parent of any public school attending children be amused by this? This is a shame. It should have never been made into a movie.

It is a sad portrayal of the public school system. I hope this isn't how public schools really are nowadays...? If this was a male teacher abusing little girls, would it still be funny?

I think the people who made this film should be ashamed of themselves. I think the public education system should pull out a lawsuit for this. Is this really what America is all about now? If the teachers are corrupt, what chance do your children have?

I am also a teacher and I thought it was hysterical. I really don't think any thinking person could believe that any of this was supposed to be "true-to-life" so why not just enjoy it as a guilty pleasure.
While I don't ever feel the need to smoke weed or dress provocatively, I HAVE had to stifle on almost overwhelming desire to write, "Are you F'ing serious?" on a kids paper... And there have been times when I would have loved to tell off a kid or a parent or a principal or some other person in charge. We all do. So maybe we can live vicariously a bit through someone doing the things that would never be tolerated in real life.

(And by the way, I have actually worked with some teachers who dressed like street walkers and no one ever said a word to them. Teachers unions are a booger!)

Dude you do realise this is a movie and not a documentary about the american school system?
You seem to have come to the conclusion you have, and to have said the things you have, I thought that your grip on what is real and what is fiction must be pretty loose and you may need reminding of this fact.

I was infact so annoyed by the display of ignorance in your post that I had to make an IMDB profile just to send you this message.
However I'm not gonna use this time to call you names or call you stupid because to be honest your clearly already too far gone for me to have any major influence on anything you do, but, I thought maybe, just maybe if I pointed out how silly your post is you might unwind and just chill the hell out.

Firstly like I said this is a MOVIE. A WORK OF FICTION. IT IS NOT REAL.
Therefore any misdeed or immoral choice made by any character is not RELEVENT TO REAL LIFE.
Secondly films have ratings for a reason.
If you dont agree with the content of the film and think it is unsuitable for children then dont take your kids to see it.
Finally pull the stick out of your ass and stop living on the assumption that everything and everyone in the world should cater to your own morale code, you americans are terrible for that.
You spout all this crap about freedom but any time something is done that even slightly offends you you go off the handle and lawsuits get made and shows get cancelled and musicians get a ton of *beep* for making their own personal art.

Just do the world a big favour stop trying to be the batman of the internet because your not doing anyone a favour by spouting this nonsense.
People like you DO NOT make the world a better place.
And if your kids are so inclined they will find drugs or not depending on their own personal standing, experience and environment.
A *beep* film with Cameron Diaz aint gonna make them smoke pot for the first time.

However you being a neurotic control freak who spouts on about drugs like you do probably will.....

I'm not outraged because I don't have a pole shoved up my ass. It's obviously not a reflection of a real school system or real teachers, (Though you seem to think it is, lol.). Whether you found it funny or not doesn't change the fact that clearly this was meant to be comedic fiction, and nothing more.

My body's a cage, it's been used and abused...and I...LIKE IT!!

OMG I KNOW! And like, those cars that she and her fiance drove in the beginning of the movie were TOTALLY not eco-friendly! I WAS OUTRAGED AT THIS. All fictional movie characters in completely and intentionally implausible, unrealistic scenarios should drive hybrids!

I'm outraged bout your lack of sense of humor, and the fact that people actually still compare movies meant to entertain with "real life".
Want to watch something deep? See "Schindler's List"! This movie never claimed to be anything but crude, rude and foul mouthed.

Incidentally, I have two children, who recently graduated from public school, and still found this movie hilarious!

I'm not outraged. 'Bad Teacher' was a comedy ... a very dark comedy about a bad teacher. It sounds like it got your attention but don't forget this is a work of fiction. I recently retired from education and I'm now working as a sub and if you look hard enough you could find inappropriate behavior at many school sites public and private. When that happens those teachers are reported and dealt with. What happens in 'Bad Teacher' is an extreme portrayal that has an 'Animal House' feel but is pure fiction. However, 'Animal House' was based on actual events of the writer's experience in college during the 60s. There is no deep message found except that being a teacher doesn't pay a ton of money. Diaz makes it very clear that she is looking for a sugar daddy. Her very wealthy fiance breaks their engagement so she has no choice except to return to teaching. According to her that's all she knows.
She makes no apologies for what she's looking for and when she finds a guy who might meet her income needs she's all over him. If he falls short she drops him quickly. And when it comes to her interaction with her students she is definitely outrageous but also very honest ... brutally honest.
'Bad Teacher' may not be a movie for someone seriously interested in the teaching profession. I saw the movie because I was curious to see how bad Diaz's character was and she got real bad. I found the parents to be very naive and too accepting. They couldn't see or chose to be blind to the fact that Diaz's character fell very short of having any degree of competence as a teacher. They knew that all she was doing was showing movies ... that's it. With that knowledge they did nothing to challenge her or bring her inadequacies to the Principals attention.
I do understand your concern, however, I doubt 'Bad Teacher' will cause the public education system to be viewed in a lessor light.

No, it isn't.

That's the real problem with this movie.
