Yup - though we have no idea how long his brain functions have been "minimal"
Safe to assume though that he had years to understand what was happening to him and suffer through it helplessly

A bright mind corrupted by greed and selfishness with a hint of narcissism. Faros Plague then wiping Apollo via Omega Clearance then murdering all of the Zero Dawn leaders before running off into seclusion on some remote island that was once San Fransisco, that's one psycho.
If he wasn't such a murderous douchebag he probably would've mastered the immortality aspect of things. Instead he forced those living with him into suicide (or get murdered). The researcher that committed suicide along with his daughter left a revenge not to Ted Faro by telling him to go to someplace warm to stabilize his mutating cells only to fuck him over. So he then resides for eras in a power core where his body mutates to the point where it encompasses the whole power core room while still siphoning the heat and energy to keep him alive but not in human form no more. Glad both Ted Farro dies along with his clone or descendant of sort.
I wish we could actually fight him as some boss battle. Would be fun and remind me of some Resident Evil boss fight.
