the Gifted

Other than being comic book based the 2 shows are nothing alike.The Gifted is about the government hunting and trying to control mutants and is more action oriented.Runaways is about a group of possibly mutant teens investigating the mystery of the sinister connection between their parents and what they are up to and is more character driven and drama oriented.

But doesn't the government run a foul of the parents in the Gifted as well and force the kicks to run away lest they be judged and locked away and decontaminated by a jury of humans?

No at all this one is more of a teen-drama with a cult in it and The Gifted is larger in scale and more political (even if 2 of the main characters are teens)
