How did you like the 1972 Ford Gran Torino's?

Me I consider 1972 to be the last good year of the automotive industry before they became fully plagued with smog pumps, emission control devices and 5mph bumpers which hampered drivability and performance, 1972 to me is the pinnacle of an era when they built good, solid vehicles, I can see why they have chosen the 1972 Ford Gran Torino as it was the end of the era for muscle cars and good solid vehicles.

Hahaha, just googled the MPG's of the 1972 Gran Torino ... 8.5 miles per gallon.
Who could afford to operate a car like that today. I used to have a 1970 Pontiac
Firebird ... and it was a lot of fun of drive .... back in the 1970's when gas was cheap.
in my local area about half of stations are charging over $5 a gallon.

In the year 1972, the average retail price of gas in the U.S. was $0.36. This is
equivalent to $2.20 in 2019 dollars.

Wow! What state do you live in? Regular unleaded here in Louisiana right down the road is 1.90 I think.

I live in Washington State and gas is $3.05 per gallon, WA State sure is expensive for gasoline.

I wish I could buy gas for $3 a gallon!
