Fuck up of the year

Started really good, gave me a stiff neck from being glued to the screen, and of course we have seen it all before, but I didn't mind, I even liked how they totally ripped off Simon Stalenhag's visual style, but what the hell happened with the last act? It felt like watching a recap of the actual thing. I surmise the movie was going to be 3+ hours long and an another hour without raging homosexuals and superheroes is an hour too long for Hollywood these days so they rewrote it in the lunch break.

I still like the movie but fuck you Gareth Edwards for ruining your own movie. Haven't been that angry since Blomkamp's Elysium.

I didn't mind it, it felt like a nice blend of Aliens, Blade Runner, a Vietnam War movie, Avatar and other things I can't think of right now.

It is a common problem with sci-fi where there's a great setup but the last act gets a bit silly with some urgent crisis, time running out, battles, action, etc. It's to be expected but can get tiring.

I agree, third act was very rushed.
