Where did you first see this? Did it scare you?

Seems like everyone has a different take on the PA films. Some scared, others indifferent. I've seen them alone in the dark with headphones, so completely immersed in the experience. Is this where they work best?

I think I watched it on a netflix DVD rental about a year after it was released. I watched it at home and no it did not scare me. I was entertained enough to watch the next few films. I am behind currently, I have not seen the spin offs or Ghost Dimension and Next of Kin.

The way you watched it is probably the best way, but for me that would make little difference.

I remember it scared me a bit. Watched it with a lamp on, normal TV sound.

The sequels weren't as scary, maybe due to the repetitive nature of the CCTV setup in the films.

How did you feel about the original Blair Witch movie? I saw it in the cinema and I think our group's excitement over it from the hype we'd heard about took away some of the impact. I remember lots of people complained about the hand-held shaky camera work and even walked out of the screening because they couldn't handle that.

I saw it in the theater. Wouldn't say it "scared" me, but it was a good experience. When done right, found footage creates a sense of vulnerability as you worry about what is just off screen. Since it's presented often as a first person perspective, you want to turn your head to look behind you, but you can't. It's like being paralyzed in a dream and unable to look away.

Someone bought me the DVD when it first came out. I should have liked it. I like ghost/haunted house movies, I like slow-burners. But I loathed it. Everyone was so unlikeable I just didn't care what happened to anyone. Micah especially was one monumental twat. Katie Featherstone was easy on the eye.
