Hard to root for him (spoilers)

He made his bed; He should have slept in it. I mean he was the one who messed up the job, so it was his own damned fault what happened to his wife. Why go on a killing rampage of people who were just doing their jobs?
Take responsibility bro!
For example, he should have realized his livelihood was in danger, and had a contingency plan to protect his wife. He had all those storage facilities for his guns, license plates, and passports, but no safe room or instructions for his wife in case his job went bad?
