Sam was a terrible lead girl and should definitely not be the new Sidney

Talk about a wooden boring performance, totally forgettable, i even had to go to imdb to see what her characters name was cause i couldn't remember it. And they want her to be the new Sidney/final girl? jesus.....

Jenna Ortega should've been the new Sidney and lead final girl in the movie, shes ten times the actress the girl who played Sam is, has way more range and i believe every performance she puts out.

Jenna Ortega is a star on the rise, shes getting alot of buzz, people are starting to know her name, i couldn't even tell you the actress who played Sam and i was just on her IMDB page, shes a nobody. Why they chose her to be the new Sidney over Ortega is baffling, instead Ortega who was honestly the biggest star in the movie outside of the old characters is given the role of the little sister who constantly needs rescuing.

Agreed. Jenna Ortega outshined the lead.

Jenna outshined everyone in the movie imo, she was by far the best thing about the new Scream. Its a shame shes the leads little sister and not the star like she should've been. They're making a big mistake with Sam as their lead and new Sidney, no one cares about her, everyone i've heard talk about the new Scream mainly talks about Jenna Ortega.

I can only hope in Scream 6 Sam dies and Jenna Ortega takes the reigns.

I dunno. I thought she was fine. Not as good as Neve Campbell, but more than good enough for the role. I agree that Tara/Jenna Ortega is a better actress and more charismatic, though.

It could still happen. Maybe in 6, Sam dies and Tara lives. In a way it would make sense, since Tara's younger and seems closer to Mindy and Chad. Plus, since Tara didn't die in the opening of 5, we know they like to break convention.
