Isn't the little sister 25 now?

Why did everyone in the movie give the vibe like she was still a kid? I know someone said "she's and adult now" at one point, but it felt like everyone was treating her like a teenager or like she had just turned 18 at most.

I just finished it and noticed this as well. I forgot about the 20 years thing or just realized it later and then it struck me as well. 25, still at home and sheltered like a fragile teen? It does not add up at all.

Would have been smarter to go with a lesser prison sentence - still more believable than this.

She was NOT living at home. She only moved back home after her accident. And she clearly had her share of problems, with her recurring dreams and trouble sleeping, so it's not too far-fetched that her parents would "shelter" her. Still, I agree, it would have been better if she had been 21-22.
