How many seasons are we looking at?

Ok so HOTD Season 1 ended in cliffhanger. Boohoo. Now we have to wait for another season. But how many seasons are there going to be? I made the decision to not watch Game of Thrones until I watched HOTD, but now with more seasons on the way, I guess I’ll be waiting a while. How long will that be?

Not read the book(s) but I have heard 4 seasons.

Wow that’s a long wait. Especially since the next season won’t be out until 2024.

The fewer the better in my opinion. Really they could probably wrap it up with one more season of ten episodes if they stop padding it out. It would be different if they had more stories within the main story ( like GoT did ) to provide more grist for their mill but so far they don't.
