Awesome film!

And then I go onto moviechat and reddit all excitedly...only to find people asking the most basic questions. -_-

Definitely stands out as one of Statham's better movies; it works also because he shares the screentime with a strong cast of supporting characters. The movie's split into 4 segments, so you end up following a lot of different characters in the process. They're not multidimensional or anything, and no one really has a narrative arc. At its core, it's just a heist film with a slightly different narrative structure. Nothing deep here. But it keeps you engaged as you switch off between the different povs, going back and forth in time as you learn more about what's been going on as the movie climaxes. And the characters, the whole of them, just come off as interesting. And Statham's character, though cliche and saccharine, comes off just badass and cool.

Some ppl may be upset with the lack of payoff when it comers to the massive supporting cast but you just gotta go in realizing that this movie is largely just about Statham and his objective. The other characters are there to add life to the movie: some verisimilitude, some style, some more substance.

Very interested in checking out the original film now.

This isn't the usual type of film I go for but I took a chance and really liked it! I agree about the supporting cast. Everyone did a great job and I found it extremely enjoyable, albeit very tense at times! I didn't fast forward even once. It held my interest the entire time.

It's not bad. It's a different kind of movie for Statham and even Ritchie up to a point.
