What's with the movie titles?

Us?
Nope.
Get Out!

It's like he can't come up with proper titles or something... Or maybe people that want to be his friend are given this answer.

i think peele is influenced a lot by 70's cinema, and those sort of horror films had really brief names. like "get out" just sounds like a horror film from the 70's.

reply

Yeah, that seems to be the case. The fake trailer for “Don’t” parodied this in Grindhouse.

reply

Can you give examples of horror film names in the 70's with such titles that don't give real meaning behind it?

Only one's that I could think of is Carrie and Ben. Rest have a lot of 'The' in the beginning or have meaning to it like House, Halloween, Phantasm, Alien.

I really liked "Us", which I thought turned out to be a pretty creative choice.

But Get Out and Nope just sound like jokes.

Is it about a guy trying to get a date with his attractive coworker but he’s in the friend zone ?

reply
