great concept, poor execution.

the idea that someone could grow old in one day was intriguing, but it seems M ran out ideas and started with the psychotic imagery and dialogue.

the girl folding into a pretzel was messed up and stupid.

there was a couple of scenes where there was 2 timelines.

why did all the adults go crazy and just say random stuff?

where did Kara get a bathing suit?

why did Guy and Prisca just die, they didnt look that old.

how would a 6 yr old have any concept of sex?

how long was the rapper on the beach? he was there before anyone else but never aged.

what happened to the basketball sized tumor, and how does one just pull it out?

what happens to all the items left on the beach? chairs, umbrella etc.

why was there hotel silverware stuck in the sand?

what was the significance of the coral breaking? how long were they under water?

how did Trent get the book through the water?

so many questions...

M. Night is a strange director cause he keeps throwing out half baked movies like a film student would. I think he has this core fanbase that's going to see his movies no matter what, and he knows he doesn't actually have to make his movies make sense. He just lobs em out there.

"the girl folding into a pretzel was messed up and stupid" -
Why was that stupid? She had a severe calcium deficiency which made her bones extremely brittle.

"there was a couple of scenes where there was 2 timelines" -
Which scenes?

"why did all the adults go crazy and just say random stuff?" -
They didn't, only Charles did. The others were clearly in shock and traumatised.

"where did Kara get a bathing suit?" -
Probably from her mother.

"why did Guy and Prisca just die, they didnt look that old" -
Yeah that was never explained. Presumably just old age. Given that the kids were nearly 50 by this point it's safe to assume the parents were quite old!

"how long was the rapper on the beach? he was there before anyone else but never aged"-
We don't know how old he was to begin with. He did age but wasn't obvious as he was only on scene for half a day.

"how did Trent get the book through the water?" -
He put it inside a baggie.

do people with a calcium deficiency fold into a pretzel when they get older if they dont take medication?

it was the mom, she looked one way and the kids were young and then she looked the other way and they were older. dont remember the exact time though. I really dont want to watch this movie again.

why would she have an extra bathing suit? is this a normal thing? all the kids magically got bathing suits that fit.

yeah they were old but still looked around 65 or 70.

the rapper was on the beach with his gf before the other family showed up. he was the same age after they arrived and never aged when the other families arrived

ok makes sense, but it was never shown.

this whole movie is confusing and its left up to the audience to make the connections and plot points. like what happens to all their stuff after everyone dies. I assume the bodies turn into dust, but what about the chairs that were metal? there would be remnants of peoples stuff on the beach.

like I said before, the concept was super intriguing, just wish it was filmed differently and with more exposition.

People with extreme calcium deficiencies have to be very careful due to how brittle their bones can become. But at this point in the film Chrystal was very old and her body hadn't had any calcium or medication for 'years'. As a result, her arm broke under the weight of the rock she was holding, which made her fall down and break the other arm. Now don't forget, because of the accelerated growth the breaks heal within seconds so her arms healed in that crooked fashion. She was angry and traumatised, thrashing around in despair, breaking all limbs, etc.

I found the film quite enjoyable, to be honest. Yes, a few things didn't make sense, but you kinda have to suspend disbelief for something so radical!

def suspend disbelief, I liked the concept of the movie. it just didnt make any sense. prob would have been a better movie if another director had made it.

The title is pretty much M Night in a nutshell. He's good at coming up with ideas but is often a poor writer who has very little sense of how to make things work.

I'd also like to know why the guy who was going crazy with a knife and killed someone with it, was then later able to retrieve the knife that they managed to take away from him. They didn't think to confiscate it off him and put it somewhere he couldn't find it...seriously?

Watched it last nite. Not bad.
