This going to become the next Transfromers the Movie.

Im willing to bet that if the second half is a whole lot better than first half. And explains Teela behavior and leads to her becoming the new Sorcerous. And Maybe Adam and Teela becoming a couple. (im going laugh at you guys if that happens) Than in 10 years it will be regarded like Transfromers The movie is regarded today. People hated that movie at the time, even tho most of them were are kids. I know, ironic. Mostly because they killed beloved characters like Optimus Prime and Ironhide. Sound Familiar. But Now its a classic. And i don't know a single Transformers fan that dosn't love it. The anger will dissipate and people will reevaluate this on its merits. Not on Teela Haircut, Outfit and overall appearance.

There is no explaining away Teela’s overall pissy feminist attitude.....sorry but she will be just as unlikeable in 30 years as she is now.

She showed zero empathy for He-Man dying but got all teary eyed for a robot. Her character is literally a sociopathic piece of dog crap who has a heart of coal. No amount of time can fix her horribly written character.

"feminist attitude"

"sociopathic"

BAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Honestly, I very much doubt that.

Transformers: The Movie came out at the height of that franchise's popularity, and while yes, it killed off lots of popular characters in a very cavalier way, it at least showed Optimus Prime going out in a heroic blaze of glory, after what is, for me, still the definitive Prime vs. Megatron shodown. His death was portrayed with the narrative gravitas and impact appropriate to the passing of a beloved leader and a friend, as much for the characters as for the audience.

This show, on the other hand, has come out a whole 19 years after the last piece of animated He-Man media, after what could most charitably be described as an astoundingly misguided marketing campaign ("It'll be for old school fans! It'll be all about He-Man!"), and killed him off unceremoniously just for the shock value, only for its de facto protagonist get all pissy at him for it.

I think it's far more likely this is going to be remembered as the He-Man franchise's Ghostbusters 2016.

"and killed him off unceremoniously just for the shock value,"

This is a pretty disingenuous complaint considering you just got done saying:

"Transformers: The Movie came out at the height of that franchise's popularity, and while yes, it killed off lots of popular characters in a very cavalier way, it at least showed Optimus Prime going out in a heroic blaze of glory"

What's disingenuous about it?

It's true that it killed roughly 70% of the 1984 cast, including many fan favorites, and arguably for even more cynical reasons (to push toy sales for the new characters); but when it came to the one character most people would agree is the closest thing the franchise has to a protagonist - Optimus Prime - it gave him a proper sendoff after what felt like a natural conclusion to his character arc.

I remember watching it as a kid and not really batting an eyelid at any of the deaths, only to bawl my eyes out at Prime's.

They both literally paved the way for a new protagonist - and from what I hear this one is very temporary - but Optimus Prime's death was impactful and dramatic, but He-Man's was unceremonious nothing more than shock value? It's practically the same thing.

It's all in the execution.

For Optimus, we see him go down after a brutal, gruesome fight against his lifelong nemesis, Megatron, and then we have a long, elaborate deathbed scene in which he more or less literally passes the "torch" - and not to his eventual successor, Hot Rod, but to Ultra Magnus. And even as he leaves both the show and us, the audience, 'until that day, when all are one', it is in a mixture of sadness and grief, but also hope for the future, as we are told the Matrix will choose another leader 'to light our darkest hour'.

Whereas in this show, it just kinda happens; in the very first episode, He-Man is reduced to a burn mark on the ground, and the only person to show any reasonable amount of grief over that fact is Queen Marlena, Teela being apparently too upset that the people around her have stopped constantly telling her how amazing she is over such a triviality.

Regardless, I obviously can't speak for anyone else, but I for one never really hated Transformers: The Movie. I didn't like the fact that they killed Optimus and a whole bunch of others, but if you'd asked 7, 8 year old me what I had thought of it once I watched it all the way through, I'm pretty sure I would have told you I liked it.

Optimus literally dies in the opening minutes of the movie, quite literally loses color (much like He-Man turning to ash) fighitng his life-long nemesis (much like He-Man). You didn't like it, that is perfectly fine, but these are VERY comparable scenarios.

Nah. 75% of humanity has lost perspective about pretty much everything. No one cares about facts or the truth.

This show could focus 100% on He-Man and Skeletor in the 2nd part - literally pushing Teela back into supporting role - and she could tear her top off and fling herself at He-Man and not a single person complaining "sHe iS a LesBiAn aNd a MAn!' would change their minds.

Internet conversation is dead. You rarely have a good on-topic conversation anymore, especially for something "controversial". Just look at this board, Sta Wars, or anything else remotely divisive. You can't actually ask a question about the characters, mythology, etc., because it will instantly be derailed by complaints about writing, social justice, or something else completely unrelated to what you asked.

74 million people voted for Donald Trump. There was MASS SUPPORT for the RIOTS last year. Public figures, including the current Vice President not only tweeted support, but offered to bail out rioters. 1% my ass - we are a society of fanatics who think rioting is acceptable form of disagreement.
