What happened at the very end?

Absolutely everyone gets killed, by who? By the older black cop who wants to take revenge for his colleague having been killed? Or he was asked by a top guy we dont see to clean up?

Or is it just a statement by the director ''once you get in that life you can never get out because someone new will come up or someone you forgot about will come back for revenge'' kind of thing?

My assumption is that the head of the undercover team (the black cop) got them all as revenge. Remember, he threatened them in a scene just prior. Good movie, but somewhat confusing with all the various characters tossed into the mix.

As carvinate pointed out, it's strongly insinuated that the black cop who was heading up the investigation -- who was brought in after the Spanish undercover agent who was mistakenly killed during the beach shootout -- had EVERYONE killed, including the gang, the cops, and the officials who oversaw it all (and helped cover up the murder).

The only thing we're not sure about is the fate of Barbara Opsomer's Manon Leonetti, the daughter of Ange Leonetti (played by the great Jean Reno).

We see that the black cop has made a call as she leaves the building and walks down the street, and two burly men step out of a vehicle to approach her but it cuts away before we see what her fate is.

Hopefully it was quick... 😕
