The last episode didn't even feel like it was taking place in Westeros.
It just felt like some random fantasy movie set. None of the richness of the setting was there. It felt hollow and fake.

shareThe last episode? The cinematography in almost every episode this season has seemed that way. It's like they replaced subtlety with OVER THE TOP IN YOUR FACE or something.
shareThe whole GoT world felt a lot smaller in the last two seasons, if that makes any sense.
shareApart from the Dragon Pit and Tywin's chambers, none of the locations seemed familiar. Even Castle Black seemed, as you described, hollow and fake.
The Throne Room seemed about half as large as it usually is, and no one could tell if that was SNOW or ASH.
King's Landing was completely unfamiliar. Like what the heck? Some massive open space right before what used to be the entrance to the Red Keep? Why didn't we ever explore this previously in the earlier seasons?
