Fucking soap opera. Last episode was predictable as fuck. Once they killed the dragon my first thought was ok now they will have to fight a bone dragon.
I was praying for Jon to die because that would bring some kind of unpredictability and realism and chaos to the episode and how the series will continue, but no it's all fucking fan service from now on that GRR is gone.
But that wasn't the issue, the issue is directing and presentation, all too average and predictable as though they want to end the series as quick as possible.

I think latitude as to deaths is more than welcome. We want the characters to survive to finally defeat the old regime of cruelty which has had its way for hundreds of years basically, and key characters have been brutalised and/or killed in the struggle for power and control. So realism has been well served narratively and in terms of episodic presentation.
