The Adorkable Misogyny & The Complicity of Geek Masculinity on TBBT

I don't read Mary Sue because I don't want to become a Raving Loonie, but I read a dumb ST:Discovery article there. A SJW has created two amazing videos about The Big Bang Theory!

“Adorkable misogynists are male characters whose geeky version of masculinity is framed as both comically pathetic and endearing, And it’s their status as nerdy nice guys that then lets them off the hook for a wide range of creepy, entitled, and downright sexist behaviors…These types of characters are shown engaging in a variety of harassing, entitled, and sexist behavior where women are concerned. They consistently stalk, spy on, lie to, and try to manipulate the women in their lives. They’re overbearing, they refuse to take ‘no’ for an answer, and they often ignore the basic tenets of consent.”

"... the four leading men on The Big Bang Theory are “are constantly attempting to perform some version of hypermasculinity. Their spectacular failures in their quest to prove their manhood then provides the ironic hook behind much of the show’s comedy. Now you’d think a bunch of geeks who are regularly derided for being unmanly would be supportive of each other’s insecurities – and although there are fleeting moments of compassion between the four friends, they spend much of their time mocking and humiliating each other for not living up to the manhood ideal.”

All roads lead to misogyny!

Nonsense!

If anything the show is misandrist ever since the girlfriends took center stage. The four guys are constantly being emasculated by them.

I agree, it's way more sexist towards men. The men are all awkward nerds and the women walk all over them.
