He was used for money. Adoption was a lie!

I hope this family, who did betray his trust, give him his money.

Sure, he wouldn't be anyone without them, but it doesn't make it right putting him in a conservativeship and pretending he was adopted.

He was blindsided this year when he learned the truth.

I don't remember much about the story, but wasn't the young man 18 or older when the conservatorship was executed? Meaning he was too old to be adopted.

If you have any clarification about that, that would be nice.

In the movie Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) tells her lady friends that he is 'almost 18', so adoption doesn't make sense. He probably had no idea what a conservatorship was, but apparently he agreed to it when he was 18 years old. Legally an 18 year old is considered old enough to agree to binding contracts, etc...

Given 138,000 from the movie.

Is that all he go? And what is this "splitting it 5 ways"? His story is his story, and maybe the "adoptive" parents (for lack of a better word).

You'd think it would be a 70/30 split at least, not him getting only 20% of his own story.
