I know they think it will, now they think every Stephen King movie has to be remade and they'll all do as successful as IT.

Well heres the thing IT was a hit for one because of the Stranger Things/80's vibe thats really popular currently, for another the plot just makes for a really great summer blockbuster movie, the story has an epic scope to it, it spans for years with so many characters. And Pennywise is a great freaking villain.

With Pet Sematary i just don't see a movie about a small family moving next to a cemetery that brings dead things back to life being that much of a hit.

No it's not. And i'm sure IT is the reason this got greenlit. But I tell you what. It IS gonna make money. And that's all that matters. Movies are a business. It doesn't have to be a hit. It just has to make a profit.

IT also had the nostalgia of the quite popular Tim Curry version.
