I like that they're not xeroxing the original.
It makes me much more interested.
shareeh.... what I would want is a more true adaption of the book, with all the crazy shit intact. Trailer hints that they're doing that, but making changes too. So we're just getting two halves of a whole here. It's frustrating. So i'm sure yet another remake is already brewing down the road.

That sounds really promising.
The original movie was pretty much identical to the book, to the point where if you've read or watched one, you don't have to bother with the other. That's the problem I have with overly faithful adaptions. Something different feels about right to me.
