Gerry taking that risk at the end wasn't necessary

Gerry injected himself with an unknown bacteria/virus at the end because he couldn't ask the scientists!
Well they still could have communicated with each other.
Remember the phone?
He could have selected a bottle and held it close to the camera, so that they can read what it was and let's say suggested to ring for a long or short period of time for a yes/positive or no/negative answer.
This way he would have been sure what to take!
What do you think? Wasn't he smart enough to come up with the idea?

reply

The phone was outside the room he was stuck in.

I think that was the OP's point, to let the phone outside the room ring long or short to communicate because he wasn't able to get to it to speak.

reply

Good call.

Plus there was not only him, there were a few other presumably quite smart people watching who might have thought of it too. They could have called the phone briefly once he was in there to give him a hint they were able to see him and to remind him they had that rudimentary communication available.

reply

Yes. My thoughts too. He would show bottles to camera. And write them to either nod camera or to simply ring phone. If phone silent - wrong bottle. If phone rings - correct.

All I could think is that it was unnecessary to go that dangerous road. That building was like 3-4 floors. And not one zombie inside small village or around building. Instead of walking those endless hallways full of zombies they could go outside, put a ladder to window closest to that lab end crawl in. Or go on roof and then climb down.

School kids in korean zombie show did that. They were inside school full of zombies. So they made a rope and climbed down few floors.
