They have blackwashed the main characters

The main character, Luke, is now a black guy, Jahzir Kadeem Bruno.

Interestingly, Jahzir Kadeem Bruno don't have any character assigned in iMDB and in the wikipedia he appears as "The Guy", sharing the character with Chris Rock (who plays the adult version), indicating he's the main character and the one who tells the story. In a nutshell: he's Luke.

The grandmother of Luke is played by Octavia Spencer, so everything fits: the good guys are black, the evil witches are white, or mostly white. You know the drill: black is good, white is evil.

I have to admit, I was thinking the same first. But after watching I can say:
1. It does not matter in the context of the movie, could be also a Chinese
2. They carefully translated it into the context for a kids movie
3. As a grown up, I was wondering if it would be that smooth living, as there is no official racial segregation, "except" all higher jobs are done by whites and all low level jobs by "blacks" as you would expect for a movie in the south of the US in the late 60s.
