Pointless horror

Why were these people murdered? Who murdered them? Nothing explained. Do you find it stylish to leave the viewer in suspense?

reply

Pretty much.

The part that cracked me up at the end was "Next time will be easier"

Right...Next time. Now let's consider the fact that all three of you were just witnessed leaving the house, your truck is now identifiable from the two kids, and you left a *beep* ton of DNA evidence all over the house. Footprints, fingerprints(nobody was wearing gloves), etc.. Not to mention tire tracks from the truck and probably paint scrapings from where they ran it into the couples' car.

As soon as they found that house the police would have set up a perimeter and that truck would have had an APB on it. They had about a 3 minute head start before the police were notified by the Jehovah(presumably) kids.

I'm all for suspension of disbelief, but if you're going to set a story in modern times, I don't think its asking too much as a viewer for the makers of these movies to account for these things. Or, maybe it is.

The ending was probably left open with the intention of a sequel, but to me that's a slap in the face. I watched THIS movie. 'To be continued' stories should never happen outside of sitcom television. Its cheap, and makes you feel like you just wasted time even trying to put together a logical conclusion.

Well, they weren't sane in the first place or else they wouldn't have tormented and murdered people..they probably didn't care about dna evidence lol

But yeah their DNA would be all over everything.

Then again, they said it to the newbie that it'll be easier next time, leading me to believe that they had done this befor and had never been caught,

They could escape captivity by changing their appearance and ditching the truck and stuff..but yeah in real life probably would be caught

Ah, you're one of those people who want to know why. Not that it's a bad thing, I've had a movie loving roommate who was the same way, and we often disagreed about ones like this.

The movies whole point is that sometimes there is no reason. Hollywood would have you believe there's always some revenge aspect or scorned lover or something, but in reality there sometimes isn't. It's much scarier to think it could happen to you for no reason, it's more comforting when there's a specific reason where you can say to yourself 'well I don't do that, so this would never happen to me.'

They were targeted because they were home. Had you actually watched the movie instead of playing on your phone you'd know that.

Utah! Get me two.

The motives are clear if you pay attention. They were hunting humans for sport and toying with them because they found enjoyment from it. It really doesn't need to be much deeper than that.

I think the original poster wanted various Morgan Freeman voiceovers throughout the movie explaining everything that occurred:

“They called her Dollface, though I reckon she was as sweet as a bushel of nettles.”

I definitely want to see that the more I think of it. Too bad Mad TV isn't around anymore. They could have pulled of that parody in their first 3 season ms.

reply

They're asking the viewer to use that thing between their ears.

Space... the final frontier.
