I didn't like the ending (spoilers)

I felt sorry for that guy. He didn't really do anything all that bad. It was his friends that raped her. And she kinda deserved the picture taking. She was a psycho, and was practically stalking him. It wasn't fair how it turned out.

She clearly had issues, but she had lost relationship with her parents because of their relationship, and then when he father died, she lost it a little. She was totally dependent on him emotionally. She needed help and counseling. In response to that, he decides to completely violate her trust and let his friends rape her. That is not a 'good' response. That is the response of someone with issues all their own.

The way he sat back and watched, it was like he was enjoying punishing her, and honestly, I thought it was strange that when he first revealed the relationship, he said he knew she had never been in a serious relationship and that it isolated her from her family. Add to that the way he and his friends talked about women, I don't think his issues had anything to do with her, or at least didn't start with her.

reply

I agree he wasn't the one in the wrong, i mean- let's not forgot why he even involved his friends it was because she was STALKING HIM!

What those guys did wasn't right but was probably the only thing they could think of to make her stop!

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.

reply

Oh come on that's disgusting. Just becasue she was stalking him gave them a right to gang rape her? That is a sick thing to say.

That was the only way to stop her? By drugging her taking photos of her in bed against her will and then letting his frinds rape her? He may have not known they were gonna go that far as to rape her but he still did nothing to stop it. Besides I think drugging her and taking dgusting pictures of someone is bad enough. She obvoisly had nobody else and she trusted him. If she was really stalking him he could have called the police, especially after to tried to kill herself. She obviosly was Ill maybe he could have gotten her some help, but what he did, there was no excuse whasoever.

I would have left him in 2 seconds too if I was his wife, I'd be scared he'd do the same thing to me if he ever got mad.

reply

I agree with the OP. While the guys did go too far, she was stalking him relentlessly. Such people just don't get it. There's no reasonable way to get them to stop. I know this first hand.
So they chose (badly) to be rather emphatic. I was rather sorry for her, but it was a case of desperate situations require deperate measures.

Besides there's such a thing as "reverse discrimination". The police would hardly take it seriously if he complained about her. Stereotypes are too strong. She looked so frail she couldn't be a problem. But lunatics are unpredictable, no matter what size.

Besides how could the guy get her therapy? He wasn't legally responsible for her. He didn't make her make the choice that offended her parents. She wasn't a young child that he should adopt now. It wasn't love but insane obsession on her part. Why should he act grateful for that?

And no, I didn't think he was all that great previously. I'm just not one of those women who are always on the side of another woman, no matter what. Women just like to be victims that never cause anything that happens to them.

No one deserves to be raped, and anyone who sits back and just watch someone get raped and then try to forget it is a sick bastard. I cant believe this thread.

True enough, no-one deserves it. But a person can cause something or at least contribute to a bad outcome for themselves.
The size or gender of a crazy stalker are in no relation to the damage they can cause.
But let's forget everything because she was raped! That makes her an instant saint!

reply

It doesn't make her a saint but nobody deserves(!) to be raped. After the pictures were made he should have stopped his friends. It would have so damn easy. Just say stop to them and if they don't want to hear then attack them or call the police.

God some of you guys are absolute dumb asses.

She was depressed, her father had died and she needed someone to be there for her. And he totally conked out "Whut? No we juz bangin' lolz. Go away now!". The film basically established that this was HER first ever major relationship. He was happy when he was getting some but when she needed a further connection, he just bailed and she ended up depressed.

Depression for those of you that don't know, is an illness from which some people don't recover.

I've been dumped by girls and I've dumped girls. But to stand and there and even think of needing photos to blackmail someone is disgusting - to let your friends do that to someone who loves you is even worse.

I feel sad for the human race.

“ And no, I didn't think he was all that great previously. I'm just not one of those women who are always on the side of another woman, no matter what. Women just like to be victims that never cause anything that happens to them.”.

No, you’re a woman who blames rape victims and feels bad for rapists. An absolute moron, to be precise.

reply

You’re vile.

reply

You're kidding right?

She broke off her relationship with her parents because she fell in love with him. Then her father died and she felt guilt because she wasn't able to fix her relationship with him. Ben was the only person she had left so when she felt him back off she became clingy. That makes her sad and pitiful.

He could have grown a pair and broken things off with her in a clean way. Or if he really felt that she was stalking him, he could have gone to the authorities. You don't resort to rape.

reply

If he had tried to stop his friends and help out the girl, I probably would have felt sorry for him. I had up until that point. That pushed it too far. He honestly should have just made it a police matter once she started stalking him after he dumped her and let them take care of the issue.

Anyone who advocates what this creep did is a contemptuous disgusting excuse for a human being. Ben and his two friends were complete scum, who despised women and saw them as nothing more than playthings. Ben may have tried to break away from those jerks by getting married but it's obvious what his true nature was. If he was so disgusted by what they did (when he claimed they'd gone too far) why did he not stop it and why did he continue to associate with them afterwards? Bruno was a total sleaze and Adam, the one who ran a "modelling" agency and then take photos of girls, so he could have something to jack off to later, most likely, was pure slime. He did keep a private stash after all. Gross!!

But Ben was the biggest hypocrite of all. At least you knew what maggots those creeps were from the get go. But Ben pretends to be the good guy, who's so in love with Jane. He probably did the same thing with Megumi, he's definitely the type to lead people down the garden path and not be truthful. He lied or lied by omission, to Jane about many things. Who knew what other filthy secrets he kept from her? He was so manipulative and quite, frankly, there were mental health issues there. He was a psychopath and so were his friends. Psychos like to hang out with other psychos because they all mirror each other's behaviour.

I'm really concerned about some posters here who think Megumi deserved to be raped because she was stalking him. We've already seen Ben as an unreliable narrator, so who knew if the stalking part was even true? Maybe if he'd been honest with her or dealt with her legally, it would have been different. But even if she had been stalking him, nobody deserves that. I seriously hope you guys are just kidding because advocating rape is pretty messed up. Just sayin'.

Don't let anyone ever make you feel like you don't deserve what you want.
