Denzel's character is way too powerful and capable

His character is seemingly able to come out on top in every situation, even when he is unaware of the variables. It takes away any suspense if he's able to kill his way out of every situation, no matter how outnumbered or outgunned. Having said that, this movie is a guilty pleasure of mine.

I found Denzel to be believable in that role, in a way that I wouldn't find another actor.

Guilty pleasure of mine also.

Agreed. You know what to expect going into something like this, but I do think that Denzel was convincing. Sure, the finale is pretty absurd, but it’s effective as a very cool way to kill off all the baddies.

There was also the struggle with the big guy in the broken mirrors that showed McColl was not completely invincible. If the security guard hadn’t shown up he would have probably been toast.

I agree. He never seemed to be in any kind of trouble.

Also, even though he's supposed to be this guy with excellent reflexes and masterful hand-to-hand combat capabilities, I didn't think Denzel was up to it physically. You could tell they were trying to mask his slowness and overall lack of physical ability with quick cuts and other camera tricks. Frankly, he's just too old for a role like this.

This doesn't mean he can't still do action, but he doesn't need to be playing a deadly killer who can take out five guys in a room without breaking a sweat.
