I miss Moffat and Russel T. Davis ...

Those two brought excellent overarching fun crazy stories along with their doctors.

The new Doctor Who Team did an excellent job with the casting of Jodie Whittaker and that's it.

- There wasn't one soon to be classic episode up until now.
- No overarching story elements.
- No big mystery to get hooked on.
- No great villains / kind of meh companions
- Nothing really interesting - except seeing a female doctor. (which works - at least for me)

They took the fun out of Doctor Who.

Russel T Davis was a great showrunner, and Moffat the best writer since 2005. But... Davis would probably follow the (N)PC current trend. Probably (sadly) the show would be quite similar to what is now.

And no, there's no female Doctor. There's a male Doctor played this time by a female cast. In a nutshell: a male with boobs, which sums up 90% of current 'empowered' female main characters in movies and series.

you miss him until you remember he wrote Love and Monsters

He was a lousy writer, but a brilliant showrunner.

A couple of badly written episodes is a low price to pay for a high quality season.

you just need a big fan of the show as a show runner
