Will Jodie's Doctor menstruate? (Serious biological question)
Prior to Whitaker's Doctor we've only seen The Doctor as a man so far. This means he has not been a woman. We can stipulate that there are two primary genders as canon due to the fact that The Doctor shoots The General and moves them into their 11th form, a woman, The General then states that she is back to her 'Normal' form and that her being a man was the only time she had been one and that it was not easy with all the ego issues going on.
The Corsair and The Master are two other Time Lords which we know changed biological gender through regeneration. We know of the Corsair's time as a woman from Matt Smith's Doctor telling us so and we saw The Master as Missy with both Smith and Capaldo featuring stories with her.
With this in mind we get down to the biology of it all. Gallifreyan children are born, they sleep in cots, if selected they get taken away at the age of eight and trained to become Time Lords. The Doctor has a granddaughter, Susan, whom we first meet him with in the first episode in 1963. Matt Smith's Doctor and David Tennant's have spoke of siring at least one child in their lifetime. We know that The Doctor can get oddly frisky having married at least Elizabeth 1st and Marilyn Monroe at points in his life.
From what we know of mammalian life (The Doctor has nipples) male specimens can create spermatozoa for the entirety of their lives (With diminishing returns as they get older/diet etc.). Female examples of mammalians produce ovum for a distinct period (Pardon the pun) of their lives which comes along with menstruating. Once they have passed beyond this stage, they no longer menstruate.
Whilst Whitaker's Doctor is likely to be in the unaccountable number of years sense of experience they have a fresh form which presents itself as much younger. Will The Doctor know mention a few biological facts which might educate young children as to the biological differences between their mothers and fathers? Will there be Tampax/Tampon skits to lighten the mood? Will The Doctor be a modern woman and address certain differences which they might not have thought about too much before?
